I was born in Sweden but have travelled widely and have lived for longer periods in England, Nepal and Ireland. I now call Belfast in Northern Ireland home and have lived here, on and off, for the last 20 years. I graduated from the University of Ulster with a Fine and Applied Art degree in the spring of 2012.
The textile art I create utilises linen, a local sustainable textile, and vintage and recycled cloth. I explore issues of individuality, place and choice. Hand stitch is an integral technique to my practice, imbuing my pieces with meaning and individuality.
The main influences on my art is my own heritage, in particular Swedish folk art originating from the county Dalarna, but also the colourful culture of Nepal and road maps.
